The work in Cumaribo

What have we done in the Amazon
Located in the department of Vichada, Cumaribo is a key municipality for several reasons. First, it is the largest in the country, with an area that surpasses that of countries like Belgium, Croatia, or Denmark. Furthermore, it is home to the first mayor who is an ex-combatant from the Havana Peace Process, elected democratically. Additionally, it is a region where multiple cultures converge.
Recognizing the importance of Cumaribo, VozEs worked closely with local leaders to initiate an Environmental Youth Academy project. The pilot project aimed to develop a proposal for the Academy as part of the Municipal Development Plan. This initiative was approved by the Municipal Council and is currently active until 2027. This first step was a significant achievement, as it represents a move toward creating a safe and effective space for debate and discussion on environmental rights protection.
